The Female Eye Film Festival established in 2001, is Ontario’s one and only annual international independent film Festival showcasing films directed by women. We present high caliber films in drama, comedy, sci-fi, action, documentary, experimental and animation. The Female Eye is a juried competitive film festival and presents films by debut, emerging and internationally recognized directors.

TELEFILM PRODUCER TRAINEE PROGRAM

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This program gives members of visible minority groups and people of Aboriginal descent the opportunity to gain above-the-line production experience. The program emphasizes one-on-one mentoring in a production environment, creating enhanced professional development opportunities for emerging and mid-level professionals. Their on-the-job training creates employment prospects, gives participants production credits, solidifies their skills, and allows them to compete for mid-level positions in the sector.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
During the online application process, you will be asked to provide the following:

Trainee portion:
- Letter of intent describing how this award would help further your career in film, television and/or interactive media in Canada
- Resume
- At least two references from past employers or instructors

Mentor portion:
- Letter of intent that describes in detail: why your company is interested in mentoring a trainee, how your company would mentor a trainee, and what the trainee would accomplish during the placement with your company
- Name, title, and qualifications of the mentor(s)
- Detailed schedule of training for the trainee broken down into a month-by-month schedule of training with attainable objectives
- Synopsis of production(s) the trainee would be working on
- Proof of financing of the project(s) the trainee would be working on

LENGTH OF PLACEMENTS:
Placements are 26 weeks in duration. Please note that all placements must be completed by March 15, 2012.

CANADIAN FILM CENTRE (CFC) is looking for applicants for the Telefilm Canada Features Comedy Lab, a CFC Film program in collaboration with Just for Laughs.

TELEFILM CANADA FEATURES COMEDY LAB

APPLICATION DEADLINE: August 15, 2011

The program is divided into two intensive 5-day modules so it’s accessible and manageable to working professionals. Module one will take place November 14th-18th, 2011 in Toronto and Module two will take place March 2012 in Los Angeles. Full-time participation will be required in the two week-long modules.

Projects/teams accepted into the program will also be eligible for a Development financing component of up to $75,000 through Telefilm’s Canada Feature Film Fund program.

There is no fee to participate in the program.
