Musician, vocalist, and film composer Gingger Shankar (Himalaya Song), has performed with everyone from Peter Gabriel, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Smashing Pumpkins to Katy Perry, and has collaborated with top film composers such as Trent Reznor and James Newton Howard.
Come hear Gingger speak about composing music for film, which includes her work on The Passion of the Christ, Monsoon Shootout, Powerless, and Himalaya Song.

Gingger Shankar is a singer, double violinist and composer. Her credits include co-composing music for The Passion of the Christ (2004), Monsoon Shootout (2013), Powerless (2013), Brahmin Bulls (2013) and touring with the Smashing Pumpkins.
Arthur Yeung is currently the Production Manager at the CFC Media Lab — after a career in publicity and promotions at the Toronto International Film Festival Group, National Film Board of Canada, Canadian Opera Company and Twentieth Century Fox Films as well as an account executive at public relations agency NKPR Inc. In addition to composing soundtracks for film/video/interactive projects, as well as producing performances and installations featuring electronic music, he co-hosts and produces Frameline, a film and culture show with a 20+ year history and roots in CKLN 88.1 FM. He is the recipient of the ReelWorld Film Festival’s Trailblazer award for his contribution to Canada’s multi-ethnic framework and entertainment industry through innovation. Distinctions include the Istvan Anhalt Electroacoustics award for excellence in musical composition. Arthur previously headed the Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival’s Industry Series and Educational programmes, helped chair its Marketing Committee and organize the festival’s live music showcase.
