The Toronto Chinese Film Festival is just wrapping up it’s inaugural festival in Richmond Hill. Part of their programming included a collection of shorts by York University’s film department including the following works that have also screened at Reel Asian: Wanda and Miles (Director Lesley Loksi Chan, 2007 Reel Asian), Fly (Director Luo Li, 2004 Reel Asian), Banana Bruises (Director Joyce Wong, 2006 Reel Asian), Faraway (Director Janice Lee, 2011 Reel Asian), Secrets (Director Nadia Tan, 2009 Reel Asian) and Left Behind Woman (Director Tony Lau, 2011 Reel Asian).
Ron Morales is raising funds for his new project Graceland – A Life for Every Lie…and has 20 hours to go to meet his goal of $18,000! Graceland is a narrative aimed at exploring the powerful and pervasive forces driving Manila’s criminal underworld – a story he feel needs to be told about his ancestral homeland.
