Toronto Youth Shorts on Rogers TV

A selection of winners from the 2012 Toronto Youth Shorts Film Festival will be airing on Rogers TV the next two weeks and amongst the selections are work from Reel Asian friends.

On the week of September 10-16, three short films by Asian artists will be shown; Vernal Equinox, the winner of the Achievement in Animation award by Haiwei Hou and Mile Zero, co-directed by Roop Gill and Jean-Francois Taylor, which won the Audience Choice award for the Our Zany Adventures program. There is also Appetizers, a finalist in the T24 Project, made by Reel Asian’s current and past marketing committee members Philbert Lui, Tai Lam, Imelda Nurwisah and Eva Ho.

Ben Brook’s Ostrichcized, winner of the Youth Emerging Artist Award; Aidan Jean’s Our Best Friends, winner of the Audience Choice award for the Young at Heart program; and Luise Docherty’s Breaking Over Me, winner of the Festival Director’s merit award for strong performances, will be airing on the week of September 17-23.
