Coming up on May 14: A Chink In The Armour at York Woods Library Theatre

Reel Asian is teaming up with JVS Toronto to present a free all-ages screening of Baun Mah’s humorous documentary short A Chink In The Armour at the York Woods Library Theatre (Finch b/w Jane & Keele). The densely-populated highrises of the Jane-Finch area represent an excellent opportunity for Reel Asian to do outreach to Asian Canadian youth & students, and this mid-week afternoon screening is designed to engage school groups as well as families.

A hilarious Michael Moore-style documentary looking at Chinese stereotypes in North America. Do the Chinese really know kung fu? Are they all good at math? The results are comical, always informative, and offer a unique glimpse into Chinese-Canadian culture.

Filmmaker Baun Mah will be on hand to do a live Q&A with the audience afterwards. Admission is free, but registration is recommended (especially for large groups) – call 416-395-5980.
