Toronto-based filmmaker, actor and radio host Sook-Yin Lee received the Reel Asian Image Award at our tenth-anniversary festival in 2006. Her buzzworthy film Year of the Carnivore is a romantic-comedy-drama about a girl with an unrequited crush on a boy who thinks she's bad in bed, who goes out to get more 'experience'.

Cristin Milioti plays Sammy Smalls, a 21-year-old tomboy who works as a store detective at Big Apple Food Town. Sammy wants to quit, but she doesn't have many options. She certainly isn't moving back home to live with her unhappy and over-protective parents (Kevin McDonald & Sheila McCarthy). Meanwhile, Sammy is head over heels for scruffy street musician Eugene (Mark Rendall). He's perfect for her, funny, irreverent and sensitive, but the problem is, he doesn't want to be in a relationship.
The film opens in theatres next Friday June 18. Come out and support!
