ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH SCHOOL TOUR

This May, Reel Asian filmmakers Shasha Nakhai (Director, The Sugar Bowl, Reel Asian Official Selection 2011), Tricia Lee (Director, Searching for Wonder, Reel Asian Official Selection 2011) and Jeff Tran (Director, Jolly Melancholies, Reel Asian Official Selection 2009) are visiting schools in the GTA and York Region to present their films and speak about a variety of social issues and filmmaking approaches.  This is a unique opportunity for students attending the participating schools to interact with Asian Canadian filmmakers about their creative process and to demonstrate that the film industry presents viable career opportunities.  The following schools are participating in Reel Asian's Asian Heritage Month School Tour:

  • Etobicoke School of the Arts
  • Bloor Collegiate Institute, Toronto
  • St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School, Toronto
  • Richmond Green Secondary School, Richmond Hill
  • Asian Heritage Month Secondary Student Symposium, OISE Toronto
Please note: access to the school tour presentations are restricted to registered students within the participating schools and not open to the general public.
