As many people know, China has a problem with population growth. As such, they have adopted very controversial child birth policies. This documentary looks at the emotional toll those polices have on the mothers (and children) involved.
Sun-Kyung Yi is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, journalist and author. As a journalist, she has written for Canada’s national newspaper The Globe and Mail, and produced for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). In 1994, Sunny became the first Canadian journalist to gain unprecedented access to North Korea. She has documented her travel to North Korea in a three-hour radio documentary; a one-hour television documentary; and a book, published by Key Porter Books, Toronto.
As a documentary filmmaker, she has produced and directed more than fifteen critically acclaimed and award winning works that have been broadcast worldwide. Sun-Kyung Yi and her husband John Haslett Cuff together created and founded Aysha Productions Inc., and have been making films together since 1995.
