TIFF‘s Sponsorship Department is looking for a Prospect Research Volunteer to assist with the upcoming RAJ KAPOOR EXHIBITION. Deadline to apply: Applications will be accepted until a qualified applicant is selected, please apply ASAP.
A Continuing Volunteer is a volunteer with an interest in making a substantial contribution of time and skills to the organization. The volunteer will have an ongoing relationship with a particular department, volunteering on a regular basis for no more than 20 hours per week for an indefinite or a defined period of time. Continuing volunteers are selected on the basis of their availability, skill set and volunteer history with TIFF.
Prospect Research Volunteer: Raj Kapoor Exhibition
Term: This volunteer position is to begin in January or February 2011 and continue for at least eight weeks, but not to exceed twelve weeks.
Dates: One to two days per week (Mon-Fri only, no weekends), dependant on the availability of
Time: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm all dates
Duties: Reporting to Sponsorship department staff, the Prospect Research Volunteer: Raj Kapoor Exhibition will assist with tasks associated with identifying major businesses in the Asian Indian community that may be interested in potentially partnering with TIFF to launch an exhibition related to the work of actor, producer and director of Hindi cinema Ranbirraj “Raj” Kapoor.
Specific duties may include sourcing information about potential organizations and businesses to approach as well as working with Sponsorship department staff to make initial phone or email contact.

• Keen attention to detail, especially for names and for formatting
• Pleasant and friendly phone manner
• Knowledge or familiarity with TIFF programming and/or familiarity with the work of actor, producer and director of Hindi cinema Ranbirraj “Raj” Kapoor
• Experience or interest in researching/working with Ontario’s Asian Indian community
