The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is now accepting applications for Director, Creative Services, a full-time position to help set the vision and lead the creative direction of all marketing and in-house above the line campaigns. Deadline: Friday, March 18th, 2011, 5pm EDT. Start date: April 2011.
Overseeing a creative team including designers and editorial staff, the successful candidate will help to set the creative direction of the TIFF corporate brand identity through collaboration with the VP Sales & Marketing and other senior staff to ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy.
-Leading and Decision-Making on all in-house creative (not including specific TIFF Bell Lightbox publications and Membership)
-Make recommendations with a firm understanding of the brand, project and task
-Direct the preparation of graphic design materials for print and ad design
-Oversee design and copy layouts for graphic design materials
-Shape the creative services environment to help motivate the best strategic, creative output possible
-Liaising with the Marketing team leader on projects that use an outside agency
-Hire and manage the creative staff and prioritizing work flow
-7+ years experience of leading strategic, creative programs and campaigns that leverage multi-media implementations including but not limited to print, outdoor and online
-Ad agency experience preferred
-Ability to analyze strategic marketing briefs and ensure smooth transition into creative development
-Significant project management skills
-Copywriting experience, or work with a copywriting team
-Effective writing skills
-Excellent organizational and time-management skills
-Proven ability to work effectively under pressure
-Ability to respond to fast-changing priorities and deadlines
-Must be proficient with the Mac platform and Adobe Creative Suite
