- Look for Jin-me Yoon (As It Is Becoming, RA 2009) as part of the Un-home-ly group show at Oakville Galleries. The show “considers the currency of the uncanny in contemporary feminist art practice” with an opening reception at the Gairloch Gardens branch tonight at 8:30pm. Free.
- David Frankovich (Exquisite Corpses, RA 2008) is holding his second annual Grey Cup Party at the Drake Hotel Café (1150 Queen St W @ Beaconsfield) this Sunday, Nov 28 at 6:30pm. The sports bar and the Victorian tea room collide and masculinity gets reconstructed. Free.
- The Traffic: Conceptualism in Canada conference takes place at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery this weekend and on display in the South Dining Room will be Instructional Tapes. This series of video works is curated by Maiko Tanaka, one of Reel Asian’s extended family of friends and supporters.
- Twin sisters Hanna Hur & Laurie Kang (Hibernation: Twins Venture Into Collaboration, RA 2009) will appear in the Gallery 44 vitrines as part of photographer Steven Beckly‘s exhibition We, Ourselves, and Us. The show opens with a reception next Thursday, Dec 2 and runs through Dec 18.
