On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, join us in-person for a free drive-in screening of The Paper Tigers with CityView Drive-In, an official partner of the City of Toronto. Though this is a FREE event, tickets are required for entry and must be reserved in advance. Tickets are available to the general public on August 10 at 10:00 AM EDT and to members on August 6 at 10:00 AM EDT .

As teenagers, kung fu disciples Danny (Alain Uy), Hing (Ron Yuan) and Jim (Mykel Shannon Jenkins) were inseparable. Fast forward 25 years, and each has grown into a washed-up middle-aged man seemingly one kick away from pulling a hamstring—and not at all preoccupied with thoughts of martial arts or childhood best friends. But when their old master is murdered, the trio reunites, soon learning that avenging their sifu will require conquering old grudges (and a dangerous hitman still armed with ample knee cartilage) if they are to honorably defend his legacy. Directed by Tran Quoc Bao, The Paper Tigers is an homage to feel-good martial arts films and is the winner of the Audience Award at the Boston Asian American Film Festival after screening at film festivals around the world.

Gates open at 7:30 PM. Intro Remarks will begin at 8:25PM with the film to follow. Please bring masks for every occupant in your vehicle. Food and beverages can be purchased on site, and will be delivered to your parking space. Once you are in your parking space, you may not exit your vehicle at any time except to visit the washrooms. Washrooms are located across the street inside Rebel Nightclub. Masks are mandatory should you need to use the washrooms. Tickets are non-transferable. The ticket purchaser must be present in the vehicle on arrival. ID of ticket purchaser will be verified on entry. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis and admission is subject to capacity. Please arrive in plenty of time to get settled – no latecomer entry past 9:00 PM.

This event is presented in partnership with The City of Toronto’s DriveInTO Program.
