In celebration of Asian Heritage Month, Reel Asian is presenting a FREE screening of Hong Kong film Overheard 2 and visiting GTA & York Region high schools to engage and educate students!
May is Asian Heritage Month! Join us and other individuals and community organizations in celebrating the long and rich history of Asian Canadians and their contributions to Canada. In celebration of this recognition, we encourage you to participate in the many Asian Heritage Month activites taking place across the nation. Reel Asian’s May events include:

Hong Kong heavyweights Lau Ching Wan, Louis Koo and Daniel Wu return in this crime thriller about greed and betrayal in the high-stakes world of insider trading and corporate espionage. Reel Asian screened Overheard 2 as our Richmond Hill Opening Night presentation in 2011. Overheard 2 was nominated for 9 Hong Kong Film Awards in 2012.

ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH SCHOOL TOUR
This May, Reel Asian filmmakers Shasha Nakhai (Director, The Sugar Bowl, Reel Asian Official Selection 2011), Tricia Lee (Director, Searching for Wonder, Reel Asian Official Selection 2011) and Jeff Tran (Director, Jolly Melancholies, Reel Asian Official Selection 2009) are visiting schools in the GTA and York Region to present their films and speak about a variety of social issues and filmmaking approaches. This is a unique opportunity for students attending the participating schools to interact with Asian Canadian filmmakers about their creative process and to demonstrate that the film industry presents viable career opportunities. The following schools are participating in Reel Asian’s Asian Heritage Month School Tour:
