Mike Hoolboom

Mike Hoolboom was born in Toronto to a Dutch father and a Dutch Indonesian mother. Considered one of the finest experimental filmmakers and theorists, he has made over 40 films and videos and written over 200 articles. Building major curatorial and critical discourse in the Canadian fringe film community, he has contributed to organizations such as CFMDC, Images, and Pleasure Dome. He recently completed his documentary about Colin Campbel, Fascination (2006), and is currently working on a new book of interiews with Canadian media artists titled Practical Dreamers.

Hiroko Namba

Hiroko Namba is an independent curator and currently programming the animation section of the Tokyo International Film Festival. She is the producer and director of Animation Soup and has showcased works from this Osaka-based collective around the world, including South Korea, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Holland.

Glenn Sumi

Glenn Sumi is the Associate Entertainment Editor at NOW Magazine, where he edits and contributes to the Stage and Film sections. He’s written for The Globe and MailBroadcast WeekXtra!Books in Canada, and Eye Weekly; and talked about entertainment for TVO’s Studio 2, Newsworld’s Big Life With Daniel Richter, CBC Radio’s Metro MorningHere And NowThe Arts TonightRealTime, and the Edge 102.1. He’s also served on the juries of the Chalmers Awards, the Inside Out Film and Video Festival, Yuk Yuk’s Great Canadian Comic Search, and Laugh Resort’s Funniest Person With A Day Job.
