On Sun, July 27, at Christie Pits Park, join Reel Asian and Toronto Outdoor Picture Show for our co-presented screening of Celine Song’s debut feature, Past Lives.
Canadian filmmaker Celine Song’s first feature film, Past Lives, follows the story of Nora, a Korean woman reunited with her childhood sweetheart Haesung after decades apart, and delicately portrays the lingering feelings and missed opportunities that transcend time, distance, and language.
Alongside Past Lives, the outdoor screening will also feature two shorts exploring past memories and family stories, Distant Cousins by Winnifred Jong and Don’t Forget the Water by Christina Hajjar.
At the screening venue, we’ll be at the pre-show with a table with limited merch giveaways and drop-in postcard writing. Come pen a letter to a loved one or scribble a postcard to someone you’ve lost touch with. If you were looking for a sign, this is it! Reach out like Haesung did.
