Quickening directed by Haya Waseem in Co-presentation with Future of Film Showcase x TIFF Next Wave

Three films set in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) featuring women in very different stages in their lives. Join us for the co-presentation of feature film Quickening directed by Haya Waseem and 2 short films Abuela by Rebeca Ortiz and Eve Parade by Rebeccah Love screening for the opening night of FOFS’ 9th annual festival.

Quickening is a story about a Pakistani Canadian teenager who loses her virginity at college, only for her first love to break up with her. Her sense of reality begins to unravel, and she becomes alienated as she struggles to belong.

The screening will be followed by a filmmaker Q&A moderated by Aashna Thakkar.
