7 Days

USA202186 minEnglishOntario PremiereComedy, Romance

Set up on a pre-arranged date by their old-fashioned Indian parents, Ravi (Karan Soni) and Rita (Geraldine Viswanathan) seem to have nothing in common, which makes their first encounter comically awkward. When news of the COVID-19 outbreak intensifies and a shelter-in-place mandate is issued, Ravi is forced to stay at Rita’s place until he can find a ride home. As time progresses, the two start learning more about one another, simultaneously judgmental and curious of each other’s quirky interests and lifestyles. When their time together stretches to an auspicious seven days and they’re faced with a stressful turn of events, Rita and Ravi start to build an unlikely bond.

Following the delightful beats of a classic rom-com, director and co-writer Roshan Sethi’s vision is elevated by the two lead actors’ undeniable charm and chemistry, telling an emotionally resonant and culturally specific story guaranteed to leave you with a feel-good high.
